FUNDS ARE COMING IN by Olabanji Joel

I can see funds trooping in to help curb the pandemic, it's all over the News, people are helping, agencies are helping and even the government released unbudgeted #15bn to Lagos state which is the epicenter of the pandemic. I will first praise the Lagos state Governor for his prompt interventions and regular updates, he is doing a good job and we pray to God to help so that success can be achieved soonest. Funds are coming in but I have my fears and it has to do with the rate of corruption in this country. I hope this pandemic won't be an excuse for our future to be looted the more, massive money is being pumped into the system this period but will it be used for the right course??!!! Will it get to the right destination??!! Will it be used by and for the appropriate persons??!! It's a good thing that billions of naira has been pumped out to fight Covid-19 but won't this cause some people benefiting from the present situation to sabotage the action of those who want it to end??! Note: In every crisis there will always be people reaping from the loss of others. Note 2: Corruption is the order of the day in Nigeria and it can not be under emphasized in this regard. Funds are coming in but will it really end the pandemic? THE FEAR OF NIGERIANS IS NOT ABOUT THE PANDEMIC BUT ABOUT THE CORRUPT PRACTICES OF THOSE WE ELECTED AS OUR LEADERS.
