ABBA KYARI'S DEATH: THINKING BACK AND CALLING ON THE YOUTHS FOR A BETTER FUTURE TO BE ATTAINED By Olabanji Joel
Abba Kyari's death is not the end of the problems in Nigeria, it won't even solve any of our problems. He surely had his good and bad sides which I am not here to mention, I am only here to tell the youths to wake up and be responsible.
The death of a supposed bad leader won't bring an end to the long term radiating problems in this country because there are still many more like him.
The step needed for a country to attain a better country is for all of us to be responsible, I mean we need to take it upon ourselves that this country is ours because if we don't see it as our personal heritage then there will be no way we can stop it from decaying. If there is no change in attitude then we will keep on recycling the same situation which corruption has made normal to us.
Restructuring is needed but change in attitude comes first before nationwide change can be achieved. Seriously, we have a big problem in the country which the present generation inherited from the past generations but what use is the exposure, technology and education if it can't influence our mindset and attitude positively.
The youths own the world but in my country Nigeria, the older adults own the country and the youths are only instruments in their hands to achieving their selfish acts but when will this stop? I understand the fact that poverty, unemployment and bad systems has made many of us so gullible to be used by these insensitive rulers but can't we think about the past and how it has profited us? Has being an instrument in the hands of the powerful ones over the years improve our standard of living? Has it made the community a better one? So why are we still doing it? Why not use our anger, desperation and frustration on those who has made this country a living hell so that our future and that of our children can be guaranteed? We should have realized by now that only the influential ones and their families are enjoying the resources meant for us all, so should we allow it to continue that way?
Looking at all those moving things for APC, PDP and all the ruling parties over the years then the power of youths will immensely bye appreciated because without the youths, success is uncertain for these people.
For our country to be better we need to major on attitudinal change which must start with the youths so that it effect can be felt nationwide.
Note: Put away the fears of what might happen when you stand up to responsibilities, no one knows tomorrow, only God can determine what tomorrow will be, so speak out, support those doing good, also endeavor to do good always, show love to those around you, let your positive impact be felt starting from where you live, only then can we all have a better country.
2023 will soon be here, it is in our hands to decide how our future will be, either to continue with the same old system or to be responsible for our future.
