THE POOR GETTING POORER: 32month unpaid salary of OAUTHC unskilled workers by Olabanji Joel

I Olabanji Joel was born and brought up in a country where it is believed that a better life can not be lived by all, the regular believe is that the rich will only become richer and the poor despite hardwork will be poorer unless a miracle occur and that a common man has no hope but I am always of a believe that all humans deserve a better life irrespective of background, religious belief, region of origin etc. A better life that I stand for doesn't mean everyone will get rich, o no!!! It is not possible due to so many factors but I believe comfortability can be achieved. Comfortability irrespective of the job anyone does. All duties are important, no one can survive as a separate entity, a Doctor can't do the work of a Nurse, Cleaner, lab scientist, Gardener, Security etc so all workers are important. Reading the report from punch news, it's simply glaring that the poor are left to wallow more in poverty despite trying so hard to work. The unskilled workers who don't get paid for 32months despite working earn the least in the hospital. Please tell me, how can a man survive with fifteen thousand naira (#15,000) in a month? Moreover some of these unskilled workers earn as low as eight thousand naira only (#8000) while the most superior amongst them earn fifteen thousand naira (#15,000) monthly. It's so unheard of that despite the ridiculous pay, they are still being owed for 32months. Question: How have these unpaid workers been surviving? Answer: I was with them since 2015-2019 and I noticed that many of these workers begged for money from the other workers of the institution. Many of them ventured into farming, commercial motorcycling, stealing etc. Question: How has the CMD been sleeping without paying the workers working in his institution? Answer: I don't know how he has been sleeping but the feeling of what the workers are passing through should make him be on his toes as he is responsible for them, he is in charge of the institution and as a leader, all individuals should be important to him. Question: Can the skilled workers be owed for 12months? It's possible but such institution will be under lock and key because these people have bodies, they have voices and they are the ones at the elm of affairs and seen as those who shouldn't be played with. SO WHO SHOULD BE PLAYED WITH? No one deserves to be maltreated, we all deserve a better life, the least paid workers are still being owed for years?!! One month salary with allowance of the Chief Medical Director of the institution will pay for approximately one hundred (100) of these workers but if they owe him and his colleagues for 3months, the whole world will hear about it. I don't know how well the CMD has been trying but to me I can say he has not tried, he should come out to tell the world why he has allowed those under his leadership to wallowing in abject poverty. Ooooo, the poor truly are getting poorer while the rich are getting richer. Who speaks for poor? What body do they have? Must it continue this way? How won't people be forced into criminal acts? Calling on the institutions' Chief Medical Director, Chairman Medical Advisory Committee and the Director of Administration to come to the aid of these unpaid workers before they become thorn in the flesh of the skilled workers and also the community at large. They are not lazy, even I have seen a lazy rich man.... they don't deserve to be inhumanly treated, they have needs and responsibilities too. THEY ARE HUMANS WITH NEEDS TOO.
