THIS TIME MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH by Olabanji Joel.
This is the best time for evangelism, best time to win souls for Christ, the time to make people know what the church stands for (love) and to silence the forces rising against the church.
God first loved us and that's why he created us in his own image, he further showed us love by sending his only begotten son to die for us, what love can be greater than this? The love of God is the reason why we are graced today and that's why we need to show love too so that we can forever be graced.
Right now, many people are on the streets with nothing to eat because their means of livelihood has been altered due to the stay at home policy and I feel the church stretching forth a helping hand will go a long way.
In a time like this where the countries that are seemingly believed to be highly developed with sophisticated technologies and the best health care systems are falling to Covid-19, then a country like ours which has nothing compared to them only has God, while we will not deny the fact that God has really been helping with our prayers in the little way we know how to, we should be aware that aside prayer at this time, work is also of importance, "for I will bless the works of your hands" is what is written in the bible, so what will God bless if we have no work at hand? While we pray, we need to help the needy too and that's how the prayer can be answered.
If a man comes to you for bread and you offer him clothe, you might think you have given something better than bread but you have not actually meet the the person's need because you have not given him the bread. My point is that the issue now is hunger and we all know a hungry man is a restless and angry man, therefore, give out food right now, sort the issue of hunger, then move ahead to preaching Christ to the person.
I am reiterating it that the best evangelism right now is "welfare evangelism" directed towards the poor who are either followers of Christ or otherwise.
Since this pandemic started in Nigeria, some churches have helped by providing various equipment and even funds to the government, this we all approve, appreciate and applaud and I am sure God is also happy with.
Community feeding should be focused on, there are so many poor persons in the church and outside the church which the government palliative measure will never get to but we have churches located almost in all angles of the country, so the church can meet with the needs from the grass root.
Finally, some notable denominations have been praying but yet to financially assist in the course of fighting Covid-19, I hope they will financially help after getting this message.
I am a Christian who strongly believe in the message of Jesus Christ "LOVE". I stand for a better life for all irrespective of who, what or where they belong to. This is the time to gain souls massively for Christ, please let's tap into this opportunity.
Note: Anything we do today will be spoken of tomorrow, there has been life before Covid-19 outbreak and if Christ tarries, there will be life after Covid-19, so what will life after Covid-19 be like?
