TRAIN YOUR CHILD AND BE SURE YOUR HERITAGE IS PRESERVED by Olabanji Joel

“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it" reference from the holy scripture which is showing the importance of training and nurturing a child. I have pointed it out severally in my write ups that what makes a man is a function of both Nature and Nurture but Nurture has more to do because it can subdue the nature of an individual. The world is experiencing growth while moral decadence is also massively increasing too. The home is a place which provides the fundamental needs of an individual, if the home which is the foundation fails then the entirety of the individual might be affected. The husband and the wife must jointly stay strong with a balanced marriage so that the child can be trained in a balanced home; for an unbalanced home will produce a morally deficient child unless one of the parents is solely determined to give it all to train the child/children. Note: An individual is bound to raise a child in the way he knows, if he is morally sound, he will give the child a sound moral training and if he is otherwise, he will do give otherwise too. NO ONE CAN GIVE WHAT HE DOESN'T HAVE. Train your child and your heritage is preserved, it's an untrained child that destroys the parent's legacies. If morally sound parents due to work or other things neglect the training of their child, they will definitely be faced with their failings at the later part of their life. Children are the future to come, what they see and learn today is what they will certainly use for the development of tomorrow. So, if they fail it means the people who brought them up has failed too because a success is complete only when the successor is successful. A heritage is always left behind for the younger generations to inherit but what sort of heritage is it? Is it the one that will ascertain a better life for generations to come or the one that will bring the end to the generations to come? TRAIN, GUIDE AND MENTOR A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO, BE REST ASSURED YOU CAN SLEEP DEEPLY WHEN ALL THESE ARE ACHIEVED BUT WHEN A CHILD WITH MORAL DECADENCE IS BROUGHT UP, EVEN THE PARENTS AND THE SOCIETY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP WELL. As we celebrate children's day today, let it be known that to achieving the kind of life we want, proper training of today's generation should be a priority. TO PARENTS, YOU CAN'T GIVE WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE SO PLEASE WORK ON YOURSELF, BE A MENTOR TO YOUR CHILDREN AND BE DETERMINED TO GIVE EVEN MORE THAN WHAT YOU WERE GIVEN, THAT'S WHEN YOU CAN REST IN PEACE. Our today's actions determines our tomorrow, growth experienced today occurred as a result of yesterday's investment, therefore it's not about today but about tomorrow's yield. Thanks Olabanji Joel.
