CLOSURE OF PRECIOUS HOSPITAL OWNED BY DR. MICHAEL GBALA, THE CMAC OF UNIMEDTHC SHOULDN'T BE THE END OF THE CASE; His humble step down as the CMAC or Removal as the CMAC of UNIMEDTHC should be ensured. By Olabanji Joel

It has been reported that the den of quacks called precious Hospital in Ondo State owned by Dr Michael Gbala has been shut down but the agitation for justice still persists as it is believed that shutting down the facility isn't enough.

Many nurses believe if the owner of the facility who is a well grounded person with adequate knowledge on what professionalism is doesn't get served with deserved punishment, then others who indulge in such a ridiculous act against the profession will not desist from it.

The uproar of the nurses which caused the private hospital to be closed still remains strong as it is believed that a man deeply involved in quackery invariably doesn't value professional nurses which makes him unfit to lead an organization with the presence of nurses, the call for him to step down or be removed as the CMAC of UNIMEDTHC Ondo State has glued to lips of many nurses.

The inhumane treatment of nurses working at UNIMEDTHC has been linked to the value placed on the profession by the Chief Medical Director of the institution Dr. Oluwole Ige, the CMAC, Dr. Michael Gbala and other members of the hospital's management team. The management of the hospital keeps on maltreating the nurses but feeds the public with false report with the claim that they owe only 47nurses salary arrears which is just 3months. The CMD's statement about the unpaid salary arrears which they claim to have paid has been confirmed to be false as many of the nurses are still being owed salaries ranging from 3months to 6months depending on the period they got employed.

It is imperative for Dr. Michael Gbala to step down from his position as the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of UNIMEDTHC Ondo State so that the nurses can be sure they are in an environment being led by someone who values what they do. Therefore Dr. Michael Gbala should either step down honourably or be removed from the position.

From the concerned nurses.

  1. He should not only resign/step down but as well be petitioned and prosecuted, else people like him won't learn their lessons
