JUSTICE FOR NURSE AJIBOLA, AISHAT OLUWAFUNKE; OOUTH Nursing is dead by Olabanji Joel
Nurse Ajibola is a great fighter for human right, she has been OOUTH Unit NANNM Treasurer before the shocking termination of her appointment, during her tenure, the detail of how the Executives who handed over to them spent the Association's money wasn't handed over to her, she questioned these people and this was how her problem with the Union Executives started, along the line, she was removed from the Hospital Nurses WhatsApp forum because she expressed her feelings about how she was shouted on because she wanted to ask question after having a three and half hours meeting.
Some Nurses were unjustly demoted from conhess 7 to conhess 6 which they got employed with, these Nurses met with her and she advised them on how to go about it, these young Nurses did all they could but never got promoted back, their unjust demotion was later saddled around thier point of entry and qualification.
Nurse Ajibola was against the unmerited punishment meted at Nurse Tega, she supported him at the face of intimidation by the senior Nurses in the institution, her support for the young Nurse coupled with her stand against corruption and injustice has made her enemy to the Nursing leaders in OOUTH and the hospital Management so to say.
She was alleged to have granted an interview to a press group on behalf of the hospital, this is a mere allegation because she only granted an interview as a regular Nurses where she discussed the good and the bad in the Association, she made the irregularities going on in the Nursing bodies known to the Nursing world and all Nursing stakeholders, she represented herself and not the hospital as she was accused of.
About two weeks ago, a panel was set up for her based on the allegation, she was being questioned and probed, some workers of the institution reportedly said they wanted to know about the ongoing panel discussion but were told it was still ongoing and no decision has been made.
Nurse Ajibola has been campaigning for the post of the institution's co-operative president post, the unit NANNM, Nursing leadership and the hospital management was said to have written a petition to the co-operative screening committee informing them that Nurse Ajibola should be disqualified from participating because she has issues with the management, she was therefore disqualified from participating.
On Wednesday 25th November,2020 she was invited to collect a letter and she discovered it was termination letter and she advised that the letter should be sent to her lawyer since he had written the Management.
Thursday 26 November, 2020 which happens to be the election date was the same day Mr Awoyomi A. A and Mrs Osiloye sent two security men and SSS to drive her out of the hospital.
The silence of NANNM and the department of Nursing on this unjust dismissal has openly confirmed the joint effort involved to victimize and inflict pain on the Nurse and other nurses as it is believed by many in the institution that the intimidation and victimisation was carried out by the DDNS, Mrs Kikelomo Enaholo, the D.A, Mr Awoyomi A. A, the CMD, Dr. Adefuye and the CMAC, Dr. Fatugase and some other Nursing leaders in the institution namely; Nurse Adesegun, Nurse Adekanbi, Nurse Oyenuga and Nurse Odufote.
It is known to all that the dismissal of Nurse Ajibola and Nurse Tega was unjust and many who decide to voice out against the maltreatment of Nurses in the institution could face the same thing if not curtailed now. The fear of speaking out has gripped many Nurses and this have always been the problem faced by OOUTH Nurses, they get victimized when they voice out about the challenges they face at their place of work, whereas they are faced with so many challenges at the institution. "Professionalism in Nursing practice" in OOUTH is dead, this is the statement on the tongue of many in the institution.
Nurse Ajibola's case ended up in dismissal because she was left to fight victimization alone, others are afraid to speak up for her or even themselves. WHO WILL REVIVE THE DEAD NURSING IN OOUTH?
OOUTH is being run like a secret cult, the Nurses are suffering in silence, the unit Nursing Association is also like a living dead, the state NANNM has left OOUTH NANNM to go astray, the Nurses are therefore helpless and most are emotionally traumatised.
OOUTH Nursing is dead.

Thing has not been like what the writer wrote about oouth for I retired as a chief nursing officer in that institution. But is better for the Nursing leader form National association of Nigerian Nurses to investigate what is going on immediately in that institution before things goes uncontrollably. That's is my advise
ReplyDeleteIt's unfortunate that a lots of people have been spreading false news about Oouth, why can't you go to Oouth or the state Nannm to find out the truth, I believe Nursing is a noble profession and people in the profession are highly intelligent and well educated, enough of feeding the public with lies, please always say the truth and let the devil be ashamed. Let us be careful of the enemies of Nursing,Oouth and Ogun state. Stop painting Oouth black, get the facts. Judge not not, unless you have the fact. Ogun Nurses are objective, factual, intelligent and not ignorant of the law, we are the gateway to all good things, not part of cheap blackmail. Think and apply knowledge and wisdom before you put pen on paper. Stop painting painting Ogun state black. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSmiles. You can give me your side of the story since it's objective but if you feel it is right to sack those nurses then you ate definitely one of the problems in Nursing
