NMCN EXAMINATION BOOKLETS IN CIRCULATION: Olabanji Joel rants
I have come again with a heavy burden in my heart to call for the investigation of these booklets found with an Hausa man selling "suya".
The multiple choice question papers are usually being retrieved from the students so how did it get to the suya man even when the students who wrote the exam do not possess it? Question booklets which the students don't get hold of were seen flying around and the answer booklets were seen used by the mallam. The answered booklets should have been properly disposed, why would such be seen outside?! WHO HAS DONE THIS?!
This is ridiculous and demeaning, investigation as to why the papers with nursing and midwifery name boldly written on were not adequately disposed should be done.
WHO SOLD OUT THE PAPERS?!
Well, I believe no nurse working with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria would subject his or her profession to such disdain but surely someone within the council has done this and such a person must be punished.
It is not a news that there are so many workers at various offices of the nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria who aren't Nurses. I was once at the southwest zonal office at Yaba, Lagos State where I met just a Nurse at the centre, others were not nurses, do we therefore expect these ones to treat Nurses or Nursing better?!
Nursing in Nigeria has been made a profession without honour which is only operating with downgraded past glory and so many things has contributed to the diminishing position of the profession.
While I rant today, I call on the nursing leaders at various units and sectors to look into all activities bringing down the profession, the booklets in circulation used in selling "suya" should be retrieved and offender should be punished, good representation of the profession by all nursing leaders should be ensured, if the followers are being represented well, good standing for the profession will be be made by the followers at all times to reciprocate the representation of the leaders.
FROM THE HEAD, NURSING IMAGE HAS GONE BAD DUE TO BAD REPRESENTATION, GREED AND POLITICS, THE IMAGE MUST BE REDEEMED, THE LEADERS MUST STAND UP FOR THE PROFESSION AND CREATE A BETTER PATH FOR THOSE OF US BEHIND.
OLABANJI JOEL RANTS AGAIN!

This is ridiculous and a bad representation of nursing. Whoever did this must be punished. I really wish our leaders can do something about this only if they are truly leaders.
ReplyDeleteNigeria my dear country.
Other country are progressing due to proper management of their health sector but instead we keep seeing and hearing things that are ridiculous each day.
God bless and heal NURSING in Nigeria
God bless and heal NIGERIA
When would nursing move forward in Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteIf a certificate exam paper can be giving to an hausa man to sell SUYA. This is demeaning, degrading and posses a bad image to Nursing as a profession.
Everyday, we hear various bad news about nursing profession which is not meant to be.
This should be investigated and Appropriate punishment should be given to one who this.
Ridiculous is an understatement. You can tag and forward to NMCN. The Board Chairman and Registrar should see it and bring to book the offender who has done this.its demeaning for the profession.
ReplyDeleteMy heart bleed seeing this ..our noble profession being rediculed..or let not d dark era of nursing befall us again....so sad so sad....so so sad
ReplyDeleteVery bad and this is 2018 questions.
ReplyDeleteI thought exam is kept confidential and not destroyed for atleast 10years.
If the candidate sue them now, it will be termed insubordination.
How much are they selling paper shredding machine that council can't afford.
Very bad and this is 2018 questions.

Paper shredder is the best option. It is available in the market and it is affordable.
ReplyDeleteAlso, before shredding documents, the council should appoint someone responsible for certifying the items are due for destruction.
If this is happening at council level I hope our license will not go out with the same style such a person is not fit in the council
