AT A TIME LIKE THIS WHEN THE COMPETITION IS HIGH, SUCCESS WON'T BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT CONSISTENCY By Olabanji Joel.
We are in a world of high competition amongst several kinds of businesses with several persons holding on to what they believe might make them successful. I have realized being the best in a chosen career doesn't guarantee success in that path, the market isn't for the best anymore but for the strong and smart ones who are ready to be consistent despite all challenges faced. No one genuinely becomes successful overnight, success comes from years of learning, unlearning, wins and fails with consistency despite all ups and downs.
I have observed new trends amongst we youths. I realized we have the studying youths who have read several books about successful business men, we have attended several classes by motivational and public speakers on how to be successful, we are praying daily to God to make us successful but we are missing it somewhere which is the aspect of being consistent. Why not study important things from the great inventors and business men in the world? They might be into several things today but did they start by doing different things? If they had not channel their strengths into doing something, probably we won't have anything in the world today in their name. If they had not been consistent despite all fails, we won't be reading about them today.
Truly, we have learnt from some entrepreneurship classes that we can't be wealthy from a stream of income, therefore we are into several businesses so that we can be "successful" but we have failed to realize that different sources of income without mastering one can't make us wealthy but we can be successful through a single path if we are consistent. We need to gain expertise and mastery doing something, become successful in it before planing to go into something else, this is the way of a man who want success. A man trying several things haphazardly will only end up being frustrated and not successful not to talk about being wealthy.
I have always told myself that success for me is achieving every goal I have set for myself, knowing that I might be delayed along the way, fail, fall sick or get tired but I must not give up because my seriousness will be measured by how consistent I am and how great I want to be doing that thing. Success for me is not until I have all the riches in the world, it is simply having a fulfilled plan.
For whatsoever growth we seek and wants to get known for, patience and consistency should not be found wanting in the things we do, constant re-evaluation and eyes on the goal without being distracted by juicy offers and doing something special brilliantly is needed. But when we do things casually, we are like every regular persons out there. Why not be consistent in doing that thing which you have chosen no matter how foolish it looks or how draining it can be? Through consistency, success is sure.
