Value and Relevance: Olabanji Joel's Birthday

Value and relevance are two things that goes together, there won't be relevance without value. It is important to know that people are valued differently because values in everyone differs but it's individual's responsibility to be valuable and grow to becoming acceptable by many for the values we have, the more the acceptance, the more the value and relevance. 



I have realized we all seek relevance but not everyone has values for relevance, some have it but it has been buried by a factor or another and not until the values are  brought out to the public, sought after relevance will never be found.

Value comes with responsibility but relevance comes with greater responsibilities, responsibilities to keep on being relevant and all means to keep standing tall especially when the person with the value is aware that several destinies are tied to one's actions and private life becomes invariably lost to the public. For all those seeking to be relevant, I urge us all to seek value first and adhere to environmental push or personal push, not to see external push as inconveniences and not to see inconveniences as stress, it is all part of the making process to being valuable and relevant, when value and relevance is lost, the entity becomes worthless. 

Over the years I have seen people believe in me even when I never believed in myself. I pick up task I think I couldn't do because some persons said "Olabanji Joel I know you will do well in this task, go for it". Sometimes, the push I get from these people gets me stressed up but I never knew they saw values which needed to be groomed and forced out until I started doing things I thought I could not do, what I saw as my weakness is what they saw as value and it became my strength, my fears became unusual boldness and the despised one became accepted. As much as I didn't intentionally seek relevance, I live everyday praying to God not to be irrelevant. In all things, I pray to God not to lose my relevance as that directly means that I have become invaluable and of no use anymore. What is life without value and impact?

I have been blessed with the gift of men and this is the greatest asset a man can have, it is beyond description for someone who doesn't understand. I am grateful to God for the gift of life, the gift of men and the in-born values, what is man without God?! 

While I am being celebrated today, celebrate my parents for giving birth to me on this special day and for instilling virtues in me and my siblings, may God almighty keep them with good health and long live to enjoy the fruit of their labour while he keep and bless me and my siblings in all ways. Amen



Happy birthday to me, long live with good health in wealth and all round increment I pray. Amen. 

I pray I shall never be invaluable and my relevance shall not be lost. Amen.

In my three years of marriage and what I have seen of marriages around me, I have come to realize that every day is an opportunity to celebrate love, foster understanding, practice forgiveness, and make sacrifices. PRIORITIZING WHAT MATTERS by Olabanji Joel Orolugbagbe

Yesterday, I discharged a very demanding patient home. As she was about to leave the ward with her daughter, she called me over for a hug and expressed her gratitude. She told her daughter that I was a good nurse and was happy that I was part of her care team throughout her hospital stay. This gesture hit me differently, and it motivated me to do even more for my patients. As an adult with family responsibilities, I have come to realize that my profession is not just a job but a source of sustenance. I have learned to prioritize my role as a nurse above every thing I was actively doing before having a family, and the appreciation from patients like this one means a lot to me.
