JUST LIKE YESTERDAY- HAPPY FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO US

My marriage to Abimbola has been a year filled with laughter, lessons, sacrifices, growth, challenges, testimonies and in all several blessings of marriage in which the birth of our baby this year crowned all the blessings. 





I have a story, my wife has a story, I am sure our individual stories will inspire those who come accross our stories on any platform. Our story of love and our individual stories of struggles in life has been the major force behind our successes. Some people thought we have always had it easy but there was a period in our life while courting that we both couldn't afford seeing a movie in the cinema nor go for a date in a restaurant. We never gave up on love despite our differences and challenges, Abimbola never gave up on me. We are not yet where God is taking us to but we are not where we used to be.



Some people asked my wife why she agreed to go into relationship with me "a stubborn Ijesha man", I am sure her conviction to be with a controversial me didn't come from the physical (I obviously didn't have anything to physically attract her). Abimbola believed in me and also invested greatly in all that we are today, without her we wouldn't have been together and probably I would have also remained single till this day not to talk of celebrating a wedding anniversary blessed with a beautiful child.

On the other hand, many people didn't ask me "why Abimbola", this was a question that might have been difficult for me to answer because she has always been the one for me even when I wasn't looking. "Why Abimbola" is a personal question that keeps me growing in love in our marriage. 

In our marriage, we have been learning and unlearning many things, each phase has been with different challenges but we always pray to God not to bring challenges bigger than our strength. With God's grace and God's love, we will remain bounded in love.


Our story is a story of love, sacrifice, support, trust and God's divine grace. 




I HAD AN UNCERTAIN BEGINNING AND I WAS A CONFUSED MAN but THE MISSING PIECE NEEDED TO COMPLETE ME CAME INTO MY LIFE AND CERTAINTY WAS BESTOWED UPON MY PERSON.

ONE YEAR OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS.

In my three years of marriage and what I have seen of marriages around me, I have come to realize that every day is an opportunity to celebrate love, foster understanding, practice forgiveness, and make sacrifices. Contrary to the notion that all you need for a successful marriage is love, I have learned that it takes intentional effort and investment from both partners. Sacrifices and forgiveness are just as crucial as love in making a marriage last, peaceful, and happy. PRIORITIZING WHAT MATTERS by Olabanji Joel Orolugbagbe

Yesterday, I discharged a very demanding patient home. As she was about to leave the ward with her daughter, she called me over for a hug and expressed her gratitude. She told her daughter that I was a good nurse and was happy that I was part of her care team throughout her hospital stay. This gesture hit me differently, and it motivated me to do even more for my patients. As an adult with family responsibilities, I have come to realize that my profession is not just a job but a source of sustenance. I have learned to prioritize my role as a nurse above every thing I was actively doing before having a family, and the appreciation from patients like this one means a lot to me.
