ATTITUDE Let me start by saying “YOUR ATTITUDE DETERMINES YOUR ALTITUDE ” Following the messages and comments I received on my birthday “July 30 th then it dawned on me that attitude at which an individual has and displays determine what one can get from people. Seeing several comments which came from people’s deepest heart, expressing how they view the person I am and who I am to them made me realize that whatsoever you are doing, either good or evil, people are watching you. An adage in Yoruba land will say “EEFI NI IWA ” meaning our character is like a smoke which cannot be hidden no matter how hard you try to hide it. The kind of celebration at which you receive from people is as a product of your attitude, the celebration can either be good or bad. The reward you get from people comes from your attitude and the way you are being viewed. Your attitude determines the recommendations and the respect you get from people. NEED FOR ONENESS AND NOT TOGETHERNESS IN NURSING Though still young in the profession but I will say, the problems in Nursing is as a result of Nurses action which is the refusal to move and progress probably due to the comfortability we get from the change being given to us as income. Medicine and Medical Lab Science started at diploma level but later integrated into the university level where quantifyable and higher certificate is being offered and all diploma centre were closed down. This is the point where revolution of these courses started from. Truly, we now have degree Nursing in our country today but how many universities is being accredited for Nursing? Compared to the schools of Nursing. Looking at it from the state level e.g Osun State as an example, we have two(2) universities in the state offering Nursing, but we have four schools of Nursing in the state, meaning the number of Nurses produced by the schools of Nursing in the state yearly is higher than that of ...
