DO WELL TO MAXIMIZE THE OPPORTUNITY IN WHAT LIFE THROWS AT YOU. By Olabanji Joel

I am of a believe that all what we are today are product of nurture and nature. Sometimes, life throws at us something far beyond what we can take but to everything that comes our way, opportunity comes with it. Remembering the past and so grateful to God for life, the important thing about today is that it's better than yesterday, not the way we used to be and not yet where we are meant to be. Bringing the best out of what was thrown at me is what has made today so special. Bringing out the best doesn't make me the best, but it makes me who I am meant to be, who I am meant to be becomes a reality when testimonies of what I am comes parallel to what I am meant to be. Nature's gift in me was dormant until it was activated by occurrence and responsibilities bestowed upon me. By positions taken, the nature's gift have always been there but silent because it has not yet been made active by nurture. Life throws at me reason to feel inferior, the greatness attached to the pla...

CLOSURE OF PRECIOUS HOSPITAL OWNED BY DR. MICHAEL GBALA, THE CMAC OF UNIMEDTHC SHOULDN'T BE THE END OF THE CASE; His humble step down as the CMAC or Removal as the CMAC of UNIMEDTHC should be ensured. By Olabanji Joel

It has been reported that the den of quacks called precious Hospital in Ondo State owned by Dr Michael Gbala has been shut down but the agitation for justice still persists as it is believed that shutting down the facility isn't enough. Many nurses believe if the owner of the facility who is a well grounded person with adequate knowledge on what professionalism is doesn't get served with deserved punishment, then others who indulge in such a ridiculous act against the profession will not desist from it.  The uproar of the nurses which caused the private hospital to be closed still remains strong as it is believed that a man deeply involved in quackery invariably doesn't value professional nurses which makes him unfit to lead an organization with the presence of nurses, the call for him to step down or be removed as the CMAC of UNIMEDTHC Ondo State has glued to lips of many nurses. The inhumane treatment of nurses working at UNIMEDTHC has been linked to the value placed on t...

LATEST UPDATE ON THE JUST REVEALED DEN OF QUACKS OWNED BY UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES TEACHING HOSPITAL CHAIRMAN MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE, DR. MICHAEL GBALA. Olabanji Joel reporting.

On the 27th July, 2020 it was reported by a Nursing media platform (Nurses on Air) that the CMAC of UNIMEDTHC just graduated fresh trained ladies with an issued certificate given to them to be Nurses. This publication caused several uproar on the social media which made the Ondo State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Director Nursing Services Ondo State and all important nursing stakeholders to be called upon to take action against the ridicule of the noble profession. The CMAC in person of Dr. Michael Gbala on 28th July, 2020 apologized on his Facebook with a statement which didn't go well with the nurses who took to the comment section of this post to vent out their anger and their disappointment at his actions. In the comment section, it was written there that "a man who trains young girls to be quacks can not value the professional nurses and this can be seen in the way nurses working at UNIMEDTHC are being treated". The post was la...

MORNING THOUGHT; The strength in Nursing

MORNING THOUGHT; The strength in nursing. The strength in nursing as a profession is not only limited to the population of nurses but also embedded in the kind of services rendered. For example:  A successful surgery can be truncated by the action of a nurse if he or she fails to aseptically dress the wound post operatively.  You don't doctor a patient to recovery or peaceful death, you nurse a patient to recovery or peaceful death. Just imagine not having nurses on ground to provide nursing services, the health care system stops working, the whole body get paralysed. THE MAJOR STRENGTH OF NURSING IS EMBEDDED IN THE PROFESSIONAL CARE RENDERED. Therefore, maximising this strength to our advantage will be the best for us but leadership has made the strength our weakness. We need to get things right and start doing it right, leadership is a core element that determines growth and development in any settings, I hope our leaders can capitalize on our strength to better the professi...

SHOULD OUR HEALTH CARE WORKERS GET INFECTED WHILE TRYING TO SAVE THE INFECTED by Olabanji Joel.

WELL MEANING NIGERIANS SHOULD COMPLEMENT GOVERNMENT EFFORT IN SUPPLYING PPE TO OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITALS COMPLEX, ILE-IFE AND WGH ILESA OSUN STATE; should our health care workers get infected while trying to save the infected? - Olabanji Joel Almost all hospitals both government owned hospitals and private hospitals have limited the number of people they provide health care to as only those with emergency conditions are being attended to and this has caused more damage than good. It's not the fault of any hospital limiting the patients they attend to, it's the situation we have on ground, the personal protective equipment in circulation is inadequate and also gotten at an expensive price. I got a report earlier today about the effect of Covid-19 on health care delivery and health workers at the above named institution. Note: The situation does not only involve the above named institution but all government owned institutions in Nigeria are suffering from ins...

NEED FOR REVOLUTION; MEAGRE INCOME, UNEMPLOYMENT AND CORRUPTION IN THE FAILED NATION

It's not a news in Nigeria anymore that we have graduates riding commercial bikes and many graduates working in places where they earn less than the minimum wage, some even earn as low as #10,000-#15,000 monthly, so how are they surviving in a time like this without pay? The annoying pay has made the country lose many great brains and skills. Other public as seen in the 15% given to the National Assembly members are now using our brains to develop their country. Migration to other countries has now been seen as success in Nigeria. What a failed country. While in tertiary institution, I realised that many students without responsibility get and spend #10,000-#20,000 monthly, my concern is how will an individual with responsibility survive in a world of today with #20,000 monthly as planned by the government to offer the 774,000 person who are to work for 3months? The simple answer is that the person will still be dependent on his/her parents whom he should be giving back to.  The op...
