5YEARS REIGN OF GENERAL MOHAMMADU BUHARI; ACHIEVEMENTS AS SEEN BY THE MASSES by Olabanji Joel

As today marks another full year of Buhari's leadership making it 5years in total, I believe a good government should sit down and review all past activities, every past year should be reflected upon and improved on. The first year of Buhari's reign was a period with high spirited people who believe the Nigeria they have been longing for would be achieved but the spirited people got their hopes smashed. My question is what has 5years of Buhari's regime done for us? I believe the 5years of his reign has brought us things we will never forget, the country will not forget his reign because of his impacts. Buhari promised us change and he really taught us all great lessons. The first lesson is to ask anyone promising change the type of change because there are positive changes and negative changes. Buhari's regime has done even more ranging from increase in fuel price, to recession, to increased killings and kidnappings, increased insecurities all round, increased poverty,...

TRAIN YOUR CHILD AND BE SURE YOUR HERITAGE IS PRESERVED by Olabanji Joel

“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it" reference from the holy scripture which is showing the importance of training and nurturing a child. I have pointed it out severally in my write ups that what makes a man is a function of both Nature and Nurture but Nurture has more to do because it can subdue the nature of an individual. The world is experiencing growth while moral decadence is also massively increasing too. The home is a place which provides the fundamental needs of an individual, if the home which is the foundation fails then the entirety of the individual might be affected. The husband and the wife must jointly stay strong with a balanced marriage so that the child can be trained in a balanced home; for an unbalanced home will produce a morally deficient child unless one of the parents is solely determined to give it all to train the child/children. Note: An individual is bound to raise a child in the way he knows, ...

STRONG CALL FOR A BETTER RESTRUCTURING IN NURSING by Olabanji Joel

For umpteen times, voices have been sounded about Nursing in Nigeria, its role/responsibilities and as well its place in the academia and health sector at large, joining my voice in solidarity, I write this today because it's about the future of the youths, the actions taken by our leaders yesterday has resulted in what we are facing today and if care is not taken, what we are facing today might be nothing compared to what the today's action of our leaders will make us face in the nearest future. The Nigerian Nursing has made the highest form of success in that to get recognition in nursing, you have to travel out of the country, to this end, the best brains and those who have the strength, willingness, courage and understanding to make the profession better are being forced to take a bow in search for a greener pasture in other climate thereby, they use their home gained knowledge and skills to improve the profession in other soil hence, leaving ours to rot away. #Note- Many ...

CELEBRATING ENGR. OLAYIWOLA OROLUGBAGBE; Lesson learnt with stability from the source. Olabanji Joel

While many people are known to adore their mum more and shower praises on mothers, I am always of the opinion that there won't be a stable home without responsible parents (father and mother). At a tender age, I witnessed severe discipline accompanied with selfless love and sacrifice. The sacrifices of a man and the tolerance of the wife made the house a home. The society we live in get it wrong many times because it focuses more on the training of a girl child thereby leaving the male child morally deficient. Only the female child gets the training on how to be a good and responsible lady who will inturn be a good wife to her husband but this practice has not made the society a better place because the male child lacks the training needed to be a man (the head of the family). The training to be given to a male child should not just be about how to make money for the family, how to manage the money made should also be included, how to be a responsible husband and father should be ...

MARRIAGE; A RELATIONSHIP THAT HAS A BEGINNING WITH ONLY DEATH BEING THE END OF IT. Olabanji Joel

A short write up coming from a lesson learnt from an old couple. The day my fears about getting it wrong in marriage increasingly skyrocketed started the day a woman who has been married to her husband for more than 45years who got is now sick said "Please tell the maid to take my husband's plate outside immediately once he is done eating, I get irritated when I see his plate because of the way he eats, his plate should be washed outside and not in my kitchen". 🙇🏽‍♂️🙇🏽‍♂️🙇🏽‍♂️🙇🏽‍♂️ Over the years, I have been learning for the families around me but it was shocked because I believe being together for 45years should have made each other's habits and state things to be seen as usual and nothing should come as an irritant. Since marriage is a long lasting relationship, marrying wrong will be so disastrous. While searching for a husband or a wife, prayers alongside all senses are needed to study and assess, it's not a thing one can opt out from anytime, the ...

NURSES, THE HEART OF HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. by Olabanji Joel.

2020 INTERNATIONAL NURSES' WEEK Theme: NURSES, A VOICE TO LEAD: Nursing the world to health. NURSES, THE HEART OF HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. by Olabanji Joel. Nursing as the heart of health care system means a lot, medicine and surgery might be the brain but in medicine, it has been proven that when the heart stops working the brain brain dies within 4-5mins. Considering the anatomy and physiology of the heart, any condition affecting the heart which causes abnormal or irregular act activity will affect all the body organs with effect greatly felt on the vital organs e.g. Brain. Someone once approached me and said "Doctors are the brains behind every successful treatment in the hospital" and I told him "yes but the brain will be dead in less than 5 minutes without the activity of the heart, as important as the brain is, it needs the blood being pumped by the heart to survive". It has been an established fact over the years that no health care facility can survive w...

CELEBRATING MOTHERS' DAY; NOT ALL WOMEN ARE MOTHERS by Olabanji Joel

Yesterday was mothers' day and many celebrated their mothers through various means. I have lost count of the number of mothers' day that has been celebrated this year. Anyways, I key into celebrating our parents everyday. I saw many videos of childbirth yesterday and many tagged it saying "why won't you celebrate someone who has given birth to you, mothers are all in all, priceless etc. My bone of contention now is that " is mothering all about pregnancy, labour and child birth"?? If it's all about pregnancy and child birth then all women should be celebrated but can we say all women worth celebrating? My mother will say "when they call on mothers some people shouldn't even bother to show face because they are not mothers but Iya Omo". I can't stop celebrating all the real mothers out there because mothering is more than just getting pregnant and putting to bed, it encompasses all about the home. A mother is one who doesn't sta...

OUR FUTURE WITH NIGERIA - Olabanji Jeol

If Nigeria continues with the way it is going now then I fear our children will come cursing us for allowing some few people destroy their lives. They will ask questions but will surely end it with curse(s) if care is not taken. Let's stand for a better Nigeria while we do away with selfishness and greed which has over the years benefitted just few and has made majority to be servants to the poverty manufacturers. Many will keep on tolerating failure because they fear success, it is easier to say I want liberation but the steps taken determines if the person truly want to be liberated. Success, freedom, liberation and every good things don't come easy, it comes with challenges and several failures but determination, optimism, hardwork, smartwork, behaviour and ability to learn from the failures are what helps with the projection to the intended position. Nigeria has only been working for few (less than 20% of the whole population) and this will continue unless there's an ...

NIGERIA; A country "in" abundance but citizens living in lack by Olabanji Joel.

Nigeria is a blessed nation, a place filled with best brains, minds and strength. A country with fertile lands for agriculture and weather that support the growth of various plants, a nation with what it takes to rear animals of various kinds, water to adequately irrigate the farmlands and provide drinkable water for the animals. The marshy areas with the deserts contribute to the well balanced eco-system. The bush animals has always been blessings, what about the sea foods? can I forget the numerous mineral resources? What about the tourism centres and nice places with best views? The population is also more of a blessing than a curse. Is there any good thing to make life better that can't be found in Nigeria? Maybe just few things. Don't we have it all in Nigeria? Nigeria has indeed been predestined to be a great nation. God has blessed this country and we have all it takes to be the greatest nation in the world. It saddens me to see the so blessed nation with majority of her...
